As I sit down with my bowl of cereal I look up to see six little eyes staring at me. Dakota, Gavin and Chandler are eyeing the food in my hands. They are all in a trance watching me, pleading, I want some! I want some! Two little babies start crawling towards me – Dakota already knows not to try this. How can I resist giving my babies a new tasty lil treat! So I give Gavin and Chandler a piece of my Lucky Charms. Dakota is in the back thinking, Now wait a minute! This isn’t fair!. She moves in closer, right in line with the boys, looking at me like, I’m your baby too! So of course, the original baby of the house gets lucky charms too!
Media Monday – 1st Big Boy Bath
This video was taken Feb 2. When they discovered that they could splash water in the baby tub that we used on the bathroom counter, we knew they were ready for the real thing. They were not afraid of the big tub at all. As soon as they were put in there, they immediately went to splashing around.
Media Monday
A couple of photos from this past week…
Look at our Baby Geniuses! They are putting together puzzles already! Gavin was so determined to get a piece to fit in its spot. Just look at how focused he is. When I would put the shape in the correct spot, he would move it out the way and try to put it back it. Chandler couldn’t wait to get Gavin out of the way to have his turn. He was also trying to get the pieces in, but then he had enough and said “I think I’ll just eat this one instead!” A shout-out to Gavin and Chandlers caregivers, Jyia & Jessie, at Lindsey’s Little Learners. Thanks for teaching them their puzzle skills!
The boys hung out with Mommy on Saturday at Noodles while Daddy had to go to work. This was their first time sitting in a high chair at a resturant. They loved it! They were friendly with the staff and other customers, giving away many smiles. They also enjoyed looking out the windows watching people walk by.
Did you notice their head gear?
Those of you that have not seen Gavin and Chandler may have noticed their head gear in the pictures from last week.
They were crowned with these bands or helmets the week before Christmas and have been wearing them 23 hours a day for the last 3 months. These bands will help shape and round out their heads.
Normally if you give a baby some time, their heads will round out just fine. But this wasn’t the case with Gavin and Chandler. Chandler’s had a mild form of Plagiocephaly whereas Gavin’s was definitely a bit more serious. Gavin’s Plagiocephaly is going to be a little harder to fix because his Torticollis (wry neck, head tilt). So we kind of expect Gavin to be in his band a little bit longer.
The bands are really lightweight, about 6 ounces. Gavin and Chandler did not have any issues adjusting to the bands. They even slept great the first night that they wore them. They do not even notice them on their heads when they are wearing them. Sometimes they mess with each other’s bands, every now and then, Gavin will yank Chandler by his band.
We are currently doing a a 2 hour drive to Charlotte (the closest location for Cranial Technologies) every other week for a 15 minute appointment to have their bands adjusted. When they first got their bands, we had to drive to Charlotte weekly for their adjustments. Boy have we put some miles on the Odyssey! Thank goodness we are now down to every other week!
These 3 months with the helmets have gone by really fast. Hopefully they only have 1 more month to go! I can’t wait to cuddle them without their helmets. Getting head-butted with those helmets is not fun.
